Dentures

A well-made denture should feel stable, chew confidently, and look like teeth — not like dentures. Getting there is about careful fitting, the right materials, and unhurried adjustments.

Whether you're replacing a few missing teeth with a partial or moving to a full denture, the process is the same in spirit: we take precise impressions, work with a trusted lab on the shape and shade, and try the denture in before it's finalized so you can tell us what feels right.

Dr. Azevedo and Dr. Lee have fitted dentures for patients across the Scottsville and James River area for years. We know that the first few weeks are an adjustment — speaking can feel odd, certain foods take practice — and we plan follow-up visits to refine the fit as your gums settle.

For patients who want more stability, we can also discuss implant-supported dentures. These snap onto two or more implants and stay put without adhesive, which many patients find life-changing.

Why it matters

  • Full and partial dentures, custom-fitted to your mouth
  • Try-in appointment before finalizing — you approve the look first
  • Adjustment visits included in the process, not charged extra
  • Implant-supported options available if you want more stability

Questions we hear

How long does it take to get a new denture?+
Typically 4-6 weeks from impressions to delivery, with 2-3 visits in between for try-ins and adjustments. Immediate dentures (placed the same day as extractions) follow a different timeline, which we'll walk through if that applies.
Will it be obvious I'm wearing dentures?+
Modern dentures look far more natural than the ones people remember from decades ago. We work with the lab on tooth shape, shade, and gum color so the result fits your face — most people can't tell.
What if my denture feels loose over time?+
Bone changes shape after teeth are lost, so dentures usually need a reline every few years. We check the fit at your maintenance visits and can reline or remake as needed to keep things comfortable.
