Financial Policy

You'll always know what your visit costs before you sit in the chair. Here's how billing, payments, and the options for patients without insurance work.

You'll always know your portion of the cost before treatment begins. We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and CareCredit, and payment is collected at the time of service. If you have insurance, we file your claim as a courtesy and you pay only your estimated portion at the visit — the rest is reconciled when your carrier responds.

About 12.7% of working-age adults in our area don't have dental insurance, and you shouldn't have to choose between your teeth and your groceries. If that's you, two paths usually fit: CareCredit (a healthcare credit card with low- or no-interest financing) and the Virginia Dental Club (a flat-fee yearly membership that covers your cleanings, exams, and routine x-rays, plus 15% off other treatment).

For larger treatment plans, you'll get the full cost upfront — no hidden fees, no surprise add-ons — and we'll talk through payment timing together. The goal is a plan you can realistically follow through on, not one that looks good on paper but stalls when the first bill arrives.

Why it matters

  • Clear upfront estimates — no surprise bills
  • CareCredit financing for treatment of any size
  • Virginia Dental Club membership for uninsured patients
  • Multiple payment methods accepted (cash, check, all major cards)

Questions we hear

When is payment due?+
At the time of service. For insured patients, we collect your estimated portion at the visit and bill insurance for the rest. For larger plans, we can discuss CareCredit or staged payment options before treatment begins.
What is the Virginia Dental Club?+
It's an annual membership designed for patients without insurance. For a flat yearly fee, you get your cleanings, exams, and routine x-rays included, plus meaningful discounts on other treatment. For many people, it's cheaper than the average dental insurance plan.
Do you offer payment plans?+
We use CareCredit for financing, which offers low- or no-interest plans depending on the amount and term. Many patients get approved on the spot. Talk to our front desk team about whether it fits your situation.
