Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are thin porcelain shells custom-made for the front of your teeth — used when whitening or bonding alone won't get you where you want to go.

A veneer covers the visible surface of a front tooth, like a fingernail laid over your own. They're used when teeth are chipped, deeply stained, slightly crowded, worn down, or have small gaps. Because the porcelain is custom-shaded and contoured, the result looks like your tooth — just better.

At our Scottsville office, we treat veneer cases as a planning conversation as much as a procedure. We look at your face, your existing teeth, what bothers you, and what you'd want to keep. Then we work with our lab to design veneers that match your features. You see a preview before anything permanent happens.

Veneers do involve removing a thin layer of enamel, so they're a long-term commitment — typically 10-15 years before replacement. We'll talk through whether veneers are the right answer or whether bonding or whitening would solve the same problem with less.

Why it matters

  • Transform chipped, stained, or uneven front teeth in a small number of visits
  • Custom-shaded porcelain that matches your face and natural teeth
  • Stain-resistant — coffee and red wine won't dull them
  • Preview the design before anything permanent happens

Questions we hear

How many visits does veneer treatment take?+
Usually 2-3 visits over a few weeks: consultation and design, preparation and temporaries, then final placement. Some cases need an additional try-in visit.
How long do porcelain veneers last?+
10-15 years on average with good care. They can chip or come loose like any restoration, but the porcelain itself is highly durable. Avoiding nail-biting, ice-chewing, and using teeth as tools extends their life significantly.
Are veneers reversible?+
No. A thin layer of enamel is removed to make room for the veneer, so they're a permanent commitment. That's why we spend time on the planning side — to make sure veneers are the right choice for you, not just an option.
