First Visit

Your first visit is mostly about getting to know each other. No surprises, no rushed treatment plan — just a thorough look and an honest conversation about what you need.

When you arrive at our office on West River Road, you'll be greeted by name. We've already pulled up your paperwork (assuming you registered online) and confirmed your insurance, so the front desk part is short. Bring a list of any medications you take and your insurance card if you have one.

The first appointment usually takes about an hour. We'll do a complete exam — checking every tooth, your gums, your bite, and the soft tissues of your mouth — along with any x-rays we need to see what's happening below the surface. If you're due for a cleaning, that often happens the same day.

Once we've finished, Dr. Azevedo or Dr. Lee will sit down with you and walk through what we found, in plain language. If anything needs attention, we'll explain why, what your options are, and what it costs. You don't have to decide anything that day — go home and think about it.

Why it matters

  • Calm, unhurried first visit — about an hour total
  • Comprehensive exam plus needed x-rays in one appointment
  • Plain-English explanation of what we found
  • No pressure to commit to treatment on the spot

Questions we hear

What should I bring to my first appointment?+
Your insurance card (if you have insurance), a photo ID, a list of medications and any health conditions, and your completed registration paperwork (we'll send a link in advance so you can do it from home).
Will I need x-rays at my first visit?+
Usually yes — they help us see decay between teeth, bone levels, and anything not visible during the exam. We use modern digital x-rays with very low radiation. If you have recent x-rays from another office, send them ahead and we may not need new ones.
Do I have to commit to a treatment plan that day?+
No. Take the information home, ask questions, get a second opinion if you want. We'll be here when you're ready to move forward.
