Restore Your Smile
The modern way to replace missing teeth
Dental implants are a permanent, stable way to complete your smile. You don't need to remove them, and they don't move around when you're speaking or eating, unlike partials and dentures. Placed and restored right here on West River Road.
How dental implants work
Dental implants are made from titanium, a strong, biocompatible material that is gentle on bone and soft tissue. After the implant is placed, your jawbone naturally grows around it and fuses to it, locking it firmly in place. The titanium implant becomes the root of your missing tooth.
Once your bone has healed completely around the implant, Dr. Youn caps it with a lifelike porcelain crown. Your dental implant looks and feels completely natural. You brush and floss it the same way you do your other teeth.
Why patients choose implants
- They look just like your natural teeth.
- You clean them like natural teeth and never have to take them out.
- They are secure and stable, embedded in bone, a permanent part of your smile.
- Treatment is conservative. The adjacent healthy teeth are not touched, the way they would be for a bridge.
- They help retain bone in your jaw, supporting a firm jawline and youthful facial contours.
- They are stain-resistant and do not decay.
Removable appliances, by contrast, can press against your jaw and slowly cause bone to diminish over the years. With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime.
The implant system we use
Implant dentistry at Scottsville Family Dentistry is led by Dr. Tyler Youn, DDS. Dr. Youn earned the Academy of General Dentistry's national first-place research award for his work on implant screw tightening techniques and screw joint stability, a study directly relevant to long-term implant outcomes.
Our practice supports the BioHorizons implant system, a well-established, evidence-based titanium implant platform known for predictable osseointegration and long-term screw joint stability. Dr. Youn plans every implant case using modern digital treatment planning, including CBCT 3D imaging where indicated, so the implant is placed precisely where bone, soft tissue, and your existing bite call for it. Because both the surgical placement and the final restoration happen in our office, your full treatment stays with the team you already know.
